Meet Katie Uhran: Profiling an Inspirationalist

What is an Inspirationalist? Well, technically, it’s a made up title I have given those who have, against all odds, devoted their life to their passion. I have asked Katie a series of questions to understand the view into her journey.

After Katie answered all my questions, she turned around and asked “What about you?” so for the first time, I answer my own Inspirationalist questions, which are featured on her blog,

Who is Katie?

She Rocks FitnessKatie Uhran is the owner of She Rocks Fitness. She graduated from the College of William and Mary, with a Bachelor of Science and Major in Kinesiology, where she was also was a Division I Field Hockey Player. Katie is a certified NASM trainer; TRX Suspension Trainer, and also certified Yoga Instructor. She is a runner, yogi, cyclist, and lover of healthy food, wine, cupcakes, dogs, and currently reside in Houston, TX. She Rocks Fitness specializes in at-home training, boot camps, and on-line training. She Rocks Fitness is also a blog that provides workouts, healthy recipes, product reviews, inspiration, and a glimpse into her personal journey. She Rocks Fitness believes that living a healthy and active lifestyle should be fun and never means giving up the things you love. It is about moderation and balance. Strong Is Beautiful!

If you were to give yourself a title, what would it be?

Fitness and Lifestyle Coaching…but I am also working on my other title “Social Media Goddess”…

What is one word that describes what you do?


What is your current challenge?

I am currently working on rebranding my business with the intention of growing my social media presence. I really want to start working with health and fitness companies to help promote their product, message, and business. I love teaching and training clients, but I also am loving the power of social media.
She Rocks Fitness

What is your current motivation?

I am training for a half marathon on Nantucket island in less than 4 weeks. It was a spur of the moment decision, but I was craving a project that would give me a schedule to follow and an excuse to travel. I love to run, because I love the way it makes me feel both mentally and physically and right now my body has been craving it, so this half marathon was perfect timing.

What do you associate the colour red with?

Boldness and Fearlessness.

How do you describe what you do to your family?

My Mom once said to me: “People pay you to torture them?”
My goal is to inspire people of all ages to live a active and healthy lifestyle. I teach them to train hard, nourish their bodies by eating well, and to always remember to enjoy life. I educate my clients that being active and healthy on a daily basis is beneficial for both their mind and body. It takes time, patience, and experimenting, but the reward of looking and feeling your best inside and out is priceless.

How do you start and end your day?

I always start with a cup of coffee, take Lucy [her adorable pup] out,  work on my computer and breakfast.

I end my day on the couch with dinner, some TV, cuddle time with Lucy, and then I always read before I turn off the lights.

To what do you owe where you are at right now, to?

I owe a lot to my parents, who have always supported me and my dreams. Their love was unconditional and they made sure I had the best education and opportunities and I will NEVER forget that. My Dad ALWAYS told me to “never give up” and I have taken those words with me as I work on building my business and my brand, but also as I work on myself personally.
I also have to give myself a little credit as well. Being an entrepreneur is scary, stressful, unpredictable, but in the end so rewarding. I have had a lot of ups and downs, but have learned so much about myself and what I am truly capable of achieving. I honestly feel like this is just the beginning of this crazy journey and I am ready to JUST GO FOR IT!
